Rabat / The Zoo

Good morning Classy People,

Being in Rabat and the region without spending a day at the zoo is similar to ignoring the bridge in San Fransisco. I'm underlining SPENDING THE DAY because you can't enjoy the entire environment if it's for a few hours.

The zoo was renovated years ago for better architecture and visual aesthetics. I remember some images of it when I went as a kid, many cages existed as a typical zoo view, so I'm glad that it all changed!

The zoo is a large, well-built jungle where animals enjoy their open-air environment. It is an introduction to animals from Africa, so every decoration is meant to collaborate with the concept. Every detail is studied, from the entrance to the exit.

Know that you shall buy your tickets and ask for two choices not exposed at the entry, a golf car as the zoo taxi for a tour of 45mins that costs 180 MAD, and a ticket of 50 MAD to feed the giraffes.

The only information you have at the ticket office is your access can include visiting the Vivarium, a museum dedicated to African reptiles.

I would recommend the ticket to access every bit of the zoological park of Temara because it is worth it.

The visit includes three circuits you shall see on the map presented to you at the entry, which is quite tiring, but no worries, several resting areas are at your disposal, including food places.

Food places mainly serve salads, different types of sandwiches, pizzas, some drinks, and sweets.

It is a day of discovery, exploration, knowledge, and pictures!

I have been four times to this zoo as an adult, and each time feels ad the first one!

Two points grabbed my attention during my latest visit. The educational farm seemed to be under renovation, and the information boards regarding the bird section were absent.

I sincerely hope this is a matter of reorganization and not professional negligence.
