Good Morning Classy People,
Located 14km from El Jadida city, Azemmour is a shy city caressed by Oum Er-Rbii River and the Atlantic Ocean. It was born years ago to acquire a strong number of historical events, but suddenly it stopped growing.
People of Azemmour today are trying to bring back life to this city by living in it instead of moving elsewhere, animating it by creating different events and activities and then investing in it financially by convincing business people to set up their projects.
All the initiatives that have been taken for the past 10 years now helped Azemmour city to stand back on its knees, but it certainly needs another rhythm and a stronger speed to stand up on its feet.
My latest visit to Azemmour city didn’t surprise me at all, because I had the same neutral feeling as the 50 times I had visited it! Unexpectedly I saw the murals, and then my heart started beating and a large smile was drawn on my face.
Azemmour streets are still preserving the beautiful Portuguese architecture, which is one of the main attractions of the visitors. Therefore, local people added their touch by painting the walls which gave a breathtaking cultural vibe to the city.
Azemmour city reminded me of Essaouira, Asfi and El Jadida! All these cities are hunted by artists, so why the focus should deviate?
ART IS THE ANSWER!
Azemmour people must make sure to color each corner of the city, organize an artistic event each week, and respect an urban chart by only designing harmonious buildings! These factors are definitely what will help this beautiful city to speed its growth and attract its deserved attention.
