MARRAKESH / THE REMARKABLE JARDIN MAJORELLE

Bonjour Classy People,

Write it on the top of your « must visit » list when you go to Morocco. The Jardin Majorelle is a remarkable twelve-acre botanical garden in Marrakech, created during the 1920s by French Art Nouveau artist Jacques Majorelle.

In 1980, fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent bought the property, saving it from becoming a major hotel, and restored the place according to the Jacques Majorelle vision and aesthetic.

From the original house of Jacques Majorelle, the place now features the Berber Museum, the YSL galleries, a bookshop, a boutique and a cafe, along with the outstanding surrounding landscape where exotic plants and birds coexist with Moroccan colors and textures.

Inside the Galerie Love, color continues to spread with an exhibit that features posters created by Yves Saint Laurent, throughout his life. Colorful collages explain love according to the fashion designer, who would usually send these artwork pieces as New Year’s Greetings to his most close friends and clients.

You will feel completely relaxed and invigorated while walking among the various plants and cobalt blue pools and fountains. You will discover so many spots where to take gorgeous pictures, so make sure you click as many memories as you can to remember this amazing place.
