F For FOOD & FASHION

Hello Classy People,

During my search through various archives, I have discovered numerous photos of myself in which I appear different each time, particularly between the ones where I appear fit and the ones where I appear fat.

From appetizers to sweets, I always enjoy recipes and cuisines from other cultures because I'm a foodie at heart.

My fast-metabolizing body and active lifestyle during youth, when I played sports frequently, meant that I never felt heavy, breathless, or uneasy in my clothes.

I have experienced being overweight three times in my life.
To be honest, I didn't enjoy the experiences.

I always feel as though my soul is imprisoned in someone else's body when I'm overweight; my breathing and movements become strange. In addition, I rely on my hand for support when standing, and the outcomes of my clothing are unsatisfactory.

As I started working in the fashion industry, I saw how closely everyone monitored their diet because it affects how they look, no one wants to appear out of proportion.

While fashion preserves the idea of a 'PERFECT' body and promotes it, I prefer to think of a 'healthy' body, which has nothing to do with being skinny or overweight.

Each woman defines her version of a healthy body, which comes from a balance of physical activity, sleep, and nourishment.

We will comprehend that, in contrast to other sectors where appearance isn't so significant, the fashion industry is all about glamour and aesthetics, creating a wonderful look.

The oversized profiles would thus always be an EXCEPTION. I’ve had conversations with ladies from all generations and backgrounds for over ten years.

The majority claim that seeing fit people makes them feel good and stimulates dreams. They all purchase clothes because they look so fit in that perfect body and watch films that feature "FLAWLESS" ladies and men. As a result, the sector will never make investments in what is considered "normal."

Everybody grins automatically when a man with an imposing body, well-dressed, and divinely scented walks in, and a fit, well-dressed lady has her hair and makeup done and smells nice.

Observe it at work, in fields far off from the spotlights of fashion and film.

Appearance is the first filter through which we portray ourselves or leave an impression. Additionally, being overweight conveys signs of irresponsibility, laziness, instability, and a chaotic life, perhaps the only positive term minds associate with a fat body would be humorous.

My personal opinion is not involved here, these are facts elaborated from different psychological experiences and countless conversations with people.

We have been trying to normalize being overweight as attractive and acceptable for the past 20 years, but I have seen so many instances when it is just expressed because we are moving towards a time of "acceptance," "tolerance," and "empathy" in front of the camera.
However, the back office remains unchanged: being fat results in a poor first impression, and in order for a good second impression, you need to reveal your personality and interpersonal abilities.

Since the fashion industry is ultimately a business, they don't want to lose a paying audience, thus, they will include one or two "overweight" models among thousands.

Food is one of the main reasons people gain weight, and balancing enjoyment with health is a constant challenge for food lovers trying to avoid weight gain. Fortunately, I could find ways to adjust without depriving myself, allowing me to enjoy food while trying to maintain a fit body, or at least to come back to it after realizing I'm overweight.

I believe BALANCE IS KEY in everything.

I keep my passion for food alive by learning what, why, how, and when to eat, especially during periods when I don’t work out.
